We are embroiled in the war between good and evil, God and Satan.  Great battles have been fought in many places at many times.  On 9/11 the battle was at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in the air over Pennsylvania.  As I write this article the battle rages on in Israel.  Satan is attempting to prevent God's plan from being completed and is resisting all who seek to further God's plan.

In November of 2002 I heard a speaker say that ministries all across US have experienced a consistent downturn since 9/11.  The downturn has manifested itself financially and in the sudden deaths of pastors, and members of their families.  While discussing this message, I was asked the question; could the terrorists have put a curse on the US through their actions on 9/11?  Immediately, a passage in 2 Kings 3, that always puzzled me, came to my mind.

In this passage the Kings of Judah and Edom made an alliance with the King of Israel to fight against Moab.  The three kings defeated the King of Moab and besieged him in a walled city.  In 2 Kings 3:27 the King of Moab "...took his firstborn son, who was to succeed him as king, and offered him as a sacrifice on the city wall.  The fury against Israel was great; they withdrew and returned to their own land."

The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge (TSK) has the following commentary: the king of Moab, in this case, sacrificed his son to obtain the favor of Chemosh his god, who, being a devil, delighted in blood and murder, and the destruction of mankind...The dearer anything was to them, the more acceptable those idolaters thought the sacrifice, and therefore burnt their children in the fire...According to Strong, the word "indignation" in verse 27 is ????????? rage or strife: indignation, wrath, rendered indignation in the NKJV or KJV, but fury in the NIV.

This fury was against Israel, which had organized this attack.  The puzzling thing about this passage is whose fury was it?

The next phrase of the verse gives us a hint that it is not God's fury because it says "they withdrew and returned to their own land."  Thus, indicating that the effect of this release of fury was the withdrawal of the alliance and the deliverance of the King of Moab, who made the sacrifice.  I can only conclude that the fury was Satan's, and, because this alliance of kings was a human alliance, and not of God (see 2 Kings 3:13-14) Satan's fury was able to break it up.

Based on this passage we can see that Satanic fury is released in the spiritual realm through human sacrifice.  This is not a surprising revelation since we have all heard of how Satanists sacrifice animals in their ceremonies, and that they sacrifice humans when they can get away with it.  Why?  Because human sacrifice has power in the spiritual realm.

We know that Satan often imitates God and perverts His Holy things.  God sacrificed His Son Yeshua, releasing the incredible power of the New Covenant.  Satan tries to slander this Holy event by using evil sacrifices to further his own authority.

So, is this just a story of the past, or is there an application for today?  Do you remember when Palestinian children were throwing stones at Israeli troops and serving as human shields for men with guns hiding behind them, who then fired on the Israeli soldiers.  The parents whose children were killed were honored and given monetary rewards by some Arab governments.  What was going on there if not child sacrifice to their false God of Islam? What, if not Satanic fury, has been released against Israel by these Palestinians, who continue to sacrifice their children to their God in the current uprising?

But, there is an even more powerful way to release power in the spirit world.  According to the principle given in the TSK - the power released is proportional to the value of what is being sacrificed.  The only thing more precious than the life of a person's child is their own life.  Yeshua gave His own sinless life as a human sacrifice, in the most spiritually powerful act in all of history.

So, we understand that the intentional sacrifice of one's own life, in the service of a false God, releases even greater Satanic fury than the sacrifice of one's children.  Is there a present day application for this understanding?  What, if not Satanic fury, is being released against Israel by Palestinians who have sacrificed their own lives, and the lives of innocent people, in the service of Allah, as many adult Palestinians suicide bombers are doing?

How about the 9/11 attacks on the US?  What, if not Satanic fury, was released against the US by the 9/11 terrorists who sacrificed their own lives and the lives of thousands of innocent people?

We can conclude that there has been a release of Satanic fury against Israel and the US, and especially against the Kingdom of God in the US, through these abominable acts.  Could this be the reason for the "downturn" many ministries have experienced since 9/11?  Could this also be the reason for the downturn in the US economy.  In the natural, fear caused by the 9/11 attacks has reduced travel, an important component of our economy.  It is obviously the reason for the downturn in the Israeli economy where fear has destroyed the vitally important tourist industry.

So, if God has revealed this to us, what can we do?  We need to understand that we are called to be Cohanim, a "royal priesthood".  As priests our job is not to arm ourselves with guns and protect our borders.  Our job is to make intercession for Israel and for our nation, to pray against the fury that has been released against the US and Israel, and for God to turn it to good.  As Joseph says in Genesis 50:20 "But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good."  Also, please pray for further revelation of how to turn away this fury, and if you get any specific revelation please let me know.

What else can be done?  In Matthew 5:44 we are told to "bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you."  We need to pray for the terrorists who are plotting against us right now, for Muslim people everywhere, for the blessings of the truth, conviction, and salvation.  And finally, please communicate this insight to intercessory prayer groups with which you are involved.

We had this revelation in mid-November and began to pray for God to turn this fury away, to turn what the enemy meant for evil to good and for blessing on the Muslim people.  We have seen an awesome increase in finances in our congregation since that time.

THE LORD'S FIERCE WRATH AGAINST AMALEK

"So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword. Then the LORD said to Moses, 'Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.'

"Moses built an altar and called it The LORD is my Banner. He said, 'For hands were lifted up to the throne of the LORD. The LORD will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation.' " (Ex 17:13-16)

"Remember what the Amalekites did to you along the way when you came out of Egypt. When you were weary and worn out, they met you on your journey and cut off all who were lagging behind; they had no fear of God. When the LORD your God gives you rest from all the enemies around you in the land he is giving you to possess as an inheritance, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven. Do not forget." (Deut 25:17-19)

"The LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hands and given it to one of your neighbors — to David. Because you did not obey the LORD or carry out his fierce wrath against the Amalekites, the LORD has done this to you today." (1 Sam 28:18)

The Amalekites were descendants of Jacob's brother Esau. Haman who plotted the destruction of the Jewish people was an Amalekite. The Amalekites attacked Israel when they came out of Egypt, by killing those among the people who lagged behind because they were weak and weary. The Lord hated them for doing this and swore that He would war against Amalek forever.

Fanatical Islam has taken over the role of Amalek in our day through suicide terrorism. Its purpose is to attack defenseless civilians, women, children and elderly, especially among the Jewish people. The Lord hates this. He has a fierce wrath against this cruelty and has promised to war against it until the memory of Amalek is blotted out from under heaven.

Iraq under Saddam Hussein has been the main, official promoter of suicide terrorism in Israel by generously supporting the families of these modern day "sons of Amalek." Whatever reason President Bush has for attacking Iraq, we believe that he is raised up by God as an instrument of judging Amalek in this generation, and setting the Arab world free from this demonic tyranny. Pray that Bush will not act like Saul who listened to the people and compromised with Amalek!

There are three major things on God's agenda at this time in history, the harvest, Israel and the bride. Everything must be judged according to what will benefit these three goals on God's heart.

Communism was an economic ideology. It fell mainly because of a financial collapse. As a result of this fall a mighty harvest was reaped and the Jews were set free to return to Zion.

Islam is a religion that from the beginning has been promoted by the sword. The words of Jesus are true, "all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword." (Mt 26:52) We believe that war is the only thing that will make Islam fall. God wants to deliver the captives under Islam and reap a mighty harvest in the Muslim world. Also Islam's outspoken agenda to destroy Israel must be defeated.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY IS NOT TO PRAY AGAINST WAR, BUT TO PRAY FOR VICTORY IN THIS WAR! We do not believe that war can be avoided.

For different reasons it might be much harder for America to attack Iraq this time, than it was in the Gulf War of 1991. The Columbia disaster was a warning from God to America and Israel, before war breaks out against Iraq, to not trust in technical superiority or divide God's land. The main word that the Lord gave to us about this terrible accident was Heb 12:6, "the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son." It is much better to be disciplined in an incident involving 7 people than to run straight into a major disaster where tens of thousands of people might die.

There is a story in the Book of Judges where the tribes of Israel attacked the tribe of Benjamin, because of the evil done in Gibeah against a Levite and his concubine. It was clearly the Lord's will for Israel to attack Benjamin and yet Israel was defeated twice. Finally they fasted and wept before the Lord and were able to defeat Benjamin.

Because of sin and the agenda to set up a Palestinian state, America might be hit in this conflict with Iraq and even loose some battles, but we must still persist and pray through to complete victory over Islamic terrorism!

** CONTINUE TO PRAY THAT AMERICA AND ISRAEL WILL PROCLAIM NATIONAL DAYS OF PRAYER AND REPENTANCE IN THEIR RESPECTIVE NATIONS TO ASK GOD FOR HELP! "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up." (Jas 4:6,10)

NOTE!!! WE ARE PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY 27 – MARCH 1 AS A SOLEMN ESTHER FAST BEFORE THE KING OF KINGS FOR THE OVERTHROW OF TODAY'S HAMAN - FANATICAL ISLAM, WHICH HAS A CLEAR AGENDA TO DESTROY ISRAEL!

Take one, two or three days without food or drink as God gives you grace, and go before the Throne of Grace pleading for mercy and help in this very difficult time of war with Islamic terrorism. Many millions of lives are at stake. Let us lift up our hands before the throne of the Lord in this battle against Amalek!

"As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. Moses built an altar and called it The LORD is my Banner. ** PRAY AGAINST ATTACKS FROM NORTH KOREA! Pray that God will confuse and break up the evil alliance between Islam and North Korea. Pray for protection over Japan as well as the US and Israel!

** PRAY THAT PRESIDENT BUSH WILL GIVE ISRAEL A 12 BILLION DOLLAR LOAN THAT THEY DESPERATELY NEED, WITHOUT FORCING SHARON TO FORM A COALITION WITH LABOR AND ACCEPT A PALESTINIAN STATE! Remember Columbia! The Israeli delegation had to return empty handed from Washington this week!!

** PRAY FOR THE FORMING OF A NEW GOVERNMENT IN ISRAEL THAT DOES NOT COMPROMISE ON SECURITY AND WILL NOT BE RULED BY THE RELIGIOUS! Pray that Labor leader Mizna will do a turn around or that Sharon will form a government without Labor!

** CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR PROTECTION AGAINST TERROR IN ISRAEL! We are amazed at how many attacks have been discovered and averted lately. Keep praying for the success of the Israeli Army in their intense fight against Arab terror right now! There are extra many terror alerts at the moment. Only with God's help can Israel be protected!

THE ISRAELI ARMY HAS MOBILIZED TROOPS ALONG THE NORTHERN BORDER THIS WEEK ANTICIPATING AN ATTACK FROM LEBANON. Pray for God's help and protection! Isa 29:17-20!
