For too long, the Intercessor and the Watchman have been looked upon as the same, but their functions are completely different.  From a scriptural perspective, it is clear that God SET the Watchman in place.  The Watchman’s purpose was to declare what he saw.  Ezekiel 3:17 clearly states "Son of man, I have made thee a Watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me."  When God first established Israel outside Egypt, He established a watchtower.  The tower was placed in the vineyard, where the people resided.  For this reason the Lord is appointing Watchmen in specific locations now.

In this day, alongside the restoration of the Prophet, Apostle, Teacher, Pastor and Evangelist, the Watchman is being restored.  Why?  I believe it is for the preservation of God’s people.  Hosea 12:13 "And by a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a Prophet was he preserved." The Hebrew word for preserve is shamar - to hedge around something, to keep, to guard, to watch as a Watchman, as a Prophet, to protect, to keep safe, to retain.  God has called some Prophets as Watchmen to shout the warning, to guard and protect His people. I n Ezekiel 33, God warns the Watchman to tell what he sees, to blow the trumpet of warning.  When the people hear the warning, they are responsible.  If the Watchman does not speak the warning, he remains accountable.  Those that heed and have an ear to hear will be preserved.

What the Watchman sees and cries out is considered "a burden to be lifted up."  God looks for an Intercessor to lift this burden to the Lord, to plead and petition on behalf of the land.  The clarion call from the Watchman must be lifted before the Lord by the Intercessors.  After all of Ezekiel’s crying out, after all of his examples through mime, etc. - did the people respond?  No! - God took Ezekiel in a vision to the city of Jerusalem and showed him the city. I n Ezekiel 22:30 and 31 the Lord said, "I looked for a man among THEM, that should make up the hedge and stand in the gap BEFORE ME for the LAND that I should not destroy it: but I found NONE. Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God."  God looks for someone right in the midst of things to be the Intercessor, to step into the gap and to begin to lift the "burden."  In Hebrew, the word burden means "the raising of the hands in prayer, a lifting up or a rising of a flame, a fire signal (smoke signal), oracle, prophetic speech."  Ezekiel did not qualify even though he was a Hebrew, a Prophet, and a Watchman.  God was looking for someone among them that would take on the role of Intercessor.  The only qualification for Intercessor is "a man."

In 1996, I began receiving calls from the northern states to pray for situations involving Pastors and people who were very involved with the land.  As I began to pray, the Lord showed me that what was happening in the lives of these people is a picture of the territorial spirits in those areas.  It seemed significant that these calls came from every state bordering Canada. I t became clear that God was stationing His Watchmen along that border for strategic warfare.  The states of Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Idaho, and Washington each play a significant part in this puzzle of untying the works of the enemy in order to hear and see clearly.  The sounding of the trumpet, if heeded will bring God’s freedom and redemption to the land.  This is very significant for the rest of America since it is on the border of Canada.  We must secure our borders!

The foundations laid across America are deeply imbedded in idol worship, witchcraft, and sorcery. These foundations will remain until the people of God take their stand to restore the Godly foundations.  We need to understand how to take back what has been held in the hands of the enemy and how to legislate the power of God over the land.  The Watchman has been strategically placed to see the course of God and the course of the enemy.  He is to call out, to cry out to those who will fervently pray for the victory of God, for the redemption of the land.  His cry is for the restoration and redemption of God’s earth and all that is in it.  This includes the souls, the hidden wealth, and the rejoicing and blossoming of the land, that the people might be free to choose to worship the Most High God, that miracles might take place to a much larger degree than we are seeing.  When Naaman was healed, he understood the entrenchment of the enemy in his homeland. This is why he asked for two mule burdens of earth that he might worship the God of Israel.  He saw that people got healed there, whereas they were not getting healed in his land.

In the Hebrew, Amorites means "speakers."  With that understanding, these speakers (the Amorites) were carrying out iniquities (evil, corruption, crime, atrocities) on the land.  Until the "Amorites" are completely driven out as in the time of Joshua, the entrenchments they have established in the land will hinder the ability of the people to see or hear clearly the word of the Lord. The true Prophets of God are called to speak the truth to the people and the land, but as long as these "false" speakers are (doing the) talking, it is very hard to hear and see what God is doing and saying.  There are many forms of false gods entrenched in our land.  n Hosea 10:12, God tells us to plant good seeds of righteousness and break up our unplowed ground.  It is time to walk the land, to plant the seeds of righteousness and to break up, or literally uproot, the seeds of evil that have been planted and have formed the wrong foundations across this land.  We need to see what God is doing and hear the word of the Lord.  The voices of the Amorites are mocking and insulting God’s people and making threats and carrying out the iniquities against the land.  We must destroy the false speakers, the Amorite gods, the territorial spirits that are ruling the land.

This seems to be the time and season for the northern states.  There have been several words and visions received for this area.  Along the United States - Canadian border, the military has established a DEW (Distant Early Warning) line. I t was originally designed as a primary line of air defense of "Over the Pole" invasion of North America.  Today with about 60 warning stations established, it is considered the northern warning system.  From a spiritual perspective, this line is a distinct early warning line, a place from which a distinct voice, a clarion call from the Watchman must be heard.

Additionally, the Lord said that the flooding of the Red River on the Minnesota-North Dakota border is a precursor of what the enemy has planned for America.  He will flood the nation with devastation and wickedness.  Also when praying for Minnesota, I saw a red dragon with horns rising up out of the river in Minnesota, likened to the red dragon in Revelation 12:3.  The Lord has shown me that many times the enemy comes through the waterways.  The heads and horns of this dragon symbolize universal wisdom and great power, but not God’s wisdom and power.

This vision was recorded in April 1996: "Just look, you will see what they are preparing for America."  As I was looking, I saw a great light, and a dark cloud appeared over it. I saw the President of Russia, a short chubby man who said he was the President of China, and two others. The last two said where they were from, but I did not understand.  However, I gathered they were part of Russian controlled territory.  The men stepped out of the cloud.  The Russian President began to speak to the Chinese one, "I will give you the land with all the people, but you must free Taiwan of the Americans. Do not fear, we will attack them from behind."  A voice said to me, "Watch where the Russians penetrate America."  I saw these words being written: Alaska, Minnesota, Florida. Then the man spoke again, "when America goes to war with China, the Russians will strike without warning."  The other two Presidents spoke, "we too will fight for you."  Each had a place already planned as a point of attack.  All of them shook hands and hugged.  Then they all signed a contract. One of them said, "We’re sure Korea and Cuba will be on our side too. Without a doubt together we can destroy America."  The President of Russia began to speak insistently, "Why let ourselves be lead by the Americans?  Why not rule the world ourselves?  They have to be kicked out of Europe too, then I could do as I please with Europe!"  The man standing beside me said, "This is what you saw: they act as friends, and say they respect the treaties made together. But everything I’ve shown you is how it will really happen. You must tell them what is being planned against America. Then, when it comes to pass, the people will remember the words the Lord has spoken."  "Who are you?" I asked.  "I am the protector of America.  America’s sin has reached God.  He will allow this destruction, for He can no longer stand such wickedness.  God, however, still has people that worship Him with a clean heart as they do His work.  He has prepared a heavenly army to save these people."  As I looked a great army well armed and dressed in white appeared before me. "Do you see that?" the man asked.  This army will go to battle to save My chosen ones.  Then the difference between the Godly and the ungodly will be evident."

In 1992, Bishop Bill Hamon had a prophetic vision of the Third World War that is being planned by Satan.  He saw the evil spirit that has occasionally arisen among men in nations that have Satan’s ambition to overcome every nation and rule the world.  This spirit will soon arise in China, some Islamic nations and a couple of existing Communist nations.  They will become allies and their single objective is to rule the world in this coming world war.  Negotiations have been taking place behind closed doors since 1992.  It will become known as the East-West War. Their goal is to overthrow the European Common Market nations and then take over America and the rest of the world.  If we win the war in the spirit realm against the principalities and powers that are motivating the Eastern Allies, then it will not have to be fought in the natural.  If the natural war comes then America will have nuclear missiles land on major cities and strategic places in America.  Multimillions will die in this coming war, including thousands in America.  Nothing can be done by the politicians to stop this war.  The war will be fought and won.  It will either be accomplished through supernatural warfare by the Church Army of the Lord, or by the natural armies of the East and West, or by a combination of both.  The only hope for the world is Jesus Christ and His Church.  The Church must aggressively go on the offensive with revelation knowledge concerning what to do to stop the plans of the enemy.

A prophetic word given by Chuck Pierce was that God is trying to give us a warning from the east, but our northern border is weak.  By strengthening our northern border, we will discern the warning from the east.  In November 1997, Chuck Pierce spoke another word over the Northwest: "You’re approaching a key timing.  This is a time that My spirit is stirring.  I’m going to confront this area with two issues, economic and military.  I am going to hold back two major structures that are holding back my people from gathering together in this area.  My call in this hour is for those to go hand in hand that will bring forth My revival in this area.  This is a day I am coming with My wind and I am going to blow and I say you will hear the Body coming together and this Body will have a strong voice. I t will affect Montana, North and South Dakota, Wyoming, Tennessee, and Virginia.  How I move here will be extended like an arrow even out to the east coast."

Carolanne Humphreys had this open vision while in Huntington, NY in November 1997: "I saw a bright flash of light, a huge flash covering many miles. It appeared east of where I was, which would put it over the Atlantic Ocean.  The impression I received in my spirit was that it was on another continent overseas.  I was standing on a mountain which was covered with trees that looked like those that grow in the area of North & South Carolina.  Looking over my right side I saw a bat winged airplane painted red, white and blue flying in a distance from behind the mountains. I  held in my hand an object that looked like a remote control for a TV and I pushed a button.  The airplane disappeared. I  was amazed and wondered what this meant.  Another airplane appeared just like the first one.  I tried to take action but I couldn’t seem to line the remote control up right because when I pushed the button I missed the airplane, and it turned and came toward me.  This plane was coming from behind the same mountain, was flying low, looking for me aggressively.  In this vision I turned and ran into a second story floor in a house built into a mountain."  We believe this word talks of the Intercessors’ response to the call from the Watchman.  We are used to trying the same strategies that have been successful in the past, but the Lord is calling for a new strategy, a look from the second story, a different perspective, His perspective.  We cannot continue with a successful tactic just because it was once successful.  When we do this without the Lord’s direction, we become self-sufficient, relying on our own strengths.  God touched the hallow of Jacob’s thigh, which means man’s foundation.  We must always be aligning ourselves to God’s foundations, not man’s.

To help us to see how far back these words go and to know that God has a season and timing for His words to be accomplished, let us look at George Washington’s vision regarding the "Third Peril."  In this vision, Washington saw thick, black clouds that arose from the nations of Europe, Asia, and Africa which joined together as one.  Throughout this mass there gleamed a dark, red light by which he saw hordes of men.  These men moved with the cloud, marched by land, and sailed by sea to America.  A voice said, "Son of the Republic, look and learn."  When the voice had ceased, the angel placed the trumpet once more to his mouth and blew a long and fearful blast.  Instantly a light as a thousand suns shone down from above me, and pierced and broke the dark cloud into fragments which enveloped America.  The inhabitants of America took courage again, closed up their broken ranks, and renewed the battle.  The inhabitants of the land were victorious.  An interpretation of the "Third Peril" clearly depicts hordes of enemies from Europe, Asia, and Africa. The red light accompanying the invaders undoubtedly indicates Communists or Muslims.  They came by air (the cloud), land (perhaps via Canada), and the sea.  They devastated all of America, millions engaged in mortal conflict.
