London Bombings

On July 7, 2005, the day the explosions took place in London, Sharon Stone and I (Martha Lucia) were on our way to London to attend a meeting where Chuck Pierce, Dutch Sheets and Pastors Tom and Jane Hamon were the primary speakers.  We knew this was a key meeting and a critical time for England.  Sharon has been plowing and planting n the United Kingdom and other European nations for nine years and I have been doing the same for four years.

Since before I arrived in England I have been sounding the trumpet as a watchman prophet concerning this war with Islam and I have been calling the nation to war.  This is reflected in “The Queen’s Domain,” which Peter Wagner edited and I had the privilege of writing a chapter entitled, “The Sword is Coming.”

Chuck Pierce was in England 40 days before the explosions and gave a word about seeing a sword over the nation and that within 40 days something would happen to shift the nation.  July 7, 2005, the day the first explosions took place, was exactly 40 days from the time Chuck gave this word.  For the transcript of the word given, see http://watchmannetwork.org/July_7_05_Chuck_Word_Eng_40_days.htm.

Sharon and I were on the last train allowed to pull into Euston Station in London the day the first explosions occurred.  It was such an eerie feeling to be in London and to see the whole city completely shut down.  The city is normally such a hustle and bustle of millions of people riding the public transportation systems and moving about doing their day to day business.  We walked the streets not knowing where or how to get to our hotel or the meeting place.  Sharon was scheduled to minister along with Pastor Jane at a ladies luncheon that started at 11 that morning.

Needless to say we never got to any of the meetings that day.  The area we were in was in the center of all the bombings.  We finally stopped walking realizing we were in an area that was locked down and couldn’t get anywhere as police had taped off the whole area.  There was nothing moving on the streets of London except emergency vehicles.  We stood in front of a pub hoping it would open so we could get out of the cold and rainy weather and sit down.  Thankfully, when the pub opened, we were able to get seats.  We were there for five hours with napkins over our noses due to the heavy smoke, but knew God had us there for a reason right in the middle of this crisis.  We spent these hours praying.

I cannot tell you all we prayed as it would be too lengthy, but we bombarded heaven with much prayer for the people, city and nation and for the United States as we also felt a need in for this nation.  I kept going to the police barricade and asking if it was possible to get to our hotel.  After five hours they began to tell us how we could make our way across the city to our hotel by going a different route.  I told Sharon we have to walk; there is no other way to get there.  So we started dragging our suitcases across London.  We got as close to our hotel as allowed and talking with police learned our hotel was the closest to King’s Cross where the most damage and lives lost were.  Our hotel had been turned into a triage unit.  I showed them my copy of the reservation I had and they let us through 7 hours after the explosions had occurred.

Our hotel was a mess as you can imagine.  We told the police we were priests (as they would understand that language) and that prayer was extended to the police as they were visibly shaken.  We were not allowed to leave the hotel that night; there was a curfew, so we did not make the meetings until the next day.  The hotel area remained roped off throughout the time we were there.

At the meeting I shared I felt this was a message from God according to Jeremiah 47:6-7:

“O thou sword of the Lord, how long will it be ere thou be quiet?  Put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.  How can it be quiet, seeing the Lord hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore?  There hath he appointed it.”

This speaks of a charge God has given the sword to act as a messenger who will set things in order at a fixed place or time.  I knew the hand of God’s mercy was over this tragic event as the death count could have been multiple times worse.  I believe the prayer for this nation had accomplished much and encouraged the intercessors that we had done our job.  If the Lord doesn’t keep the city, the watchmen wake in vain (Psalm 127:1).

The meetings were power packed with the presence of God.  I heard a sound I have not heard in England.  It was a sound of war.  I said to Chuck Pierce don’t let these people leave without commissioning them into the army.  We must continue to press into the shift that has been started to see the nation shift and become the Apostolic-sending nation God intended.

Sharon and I, along with a team of intercessors and musicians, are going to every county in England to pull together those who will take on the challenge of believing and moving with the Spirit of the Lord to see this accomplished.  We are about 1/3 along with this challenge and need all the prayers of the saints to help us finish this by the end of November.  I cannot tell you the importance I see for the nation of England at this time and how what happens in England will impact the entire world.  She has been the exporter to the nations of much, but we believe this nation can once again be the hub of spiritual accomplishment.  Please go to http://watchmannetwork.org/England_Country_Tour.htm to see a reports from the counties that have been visited.  A schedule of the remaining tour dates and locations is posted on http://www.distinctsound.org/county_tour/dates.htm.

 Blessings,

Martha Lucia
