Dear Friends:

Barbara Yoder is a tremendous leader with great insight. When she called me six weeks ago saying she heard the Lord saying, “May Day, May Day, May Day,” I asked her to allow the Spirit of God to just develop this in her and write this for the benefit of all of us. The following is an excellent prophetic focus on how to pray in May. Barbara serves on the Apostolic Council of the USSPN, and has spearheaded the mobilization and move of God in the state of Michigan. She also counsels the states of that region. She is a wonderful apostolic and prophetic model for this time in history.

MayDay, MayDay, MayDay

The Jordan is flooding and appears impossible to cross. Now is the time to arise, cry out to God to find the way through. On the third day, the officers instructed the people in the order of the march. Joshua ordered everyone to sanctify themselves. Then the priests with the Ark on their shoulders, were to go before the people and put their feet in the Jordan. As soon as they put their feet in the water, the river parted and all the people crossed over. (Joshua 3) It is a time for unusual faith, a miraculous faith which will part uncrossable rivers. It is a time for BELIEVERS to stand and take their place in intercession and shut the mouths of the lions which are roaring at the river’s edge to keep us from crossing over.

Near the end of March, I heard the Lord say, Mayday, Mayday, Mayday. We have entered a countdown of urgency to break through. Many intercessors and prophetic people have been alerted to this time as one of dire alert. We are in a time when key issues must be broken through spiritually by May 11 both in our territories as well as the nation. May is a turning month. It is no mistake that Chuck Pierce, Dutch Sheets and Cindy Jacobs will be in Washington DC for a National Day of Prayer Conference that will take place over a 3 day period including the National Day of Prayer. Our nation is hanging in the balance, vacillating between two opinions.

Mayday comes from a French word m’aider which means “Help Me!” The word was always reserved for absolute impending peril because the distress call would come with great risk to the rescuers. The call for help is issued just before a disaster occurs to summon help. When a sinking ship or troubled airliner calls mayday, it means a crash is imminent. I believe that God is issuing an urgent summons to prayer to intercept the grave plans of the enemy which will cause great distress.

The war in Iraq (which parallels Babylon in Scripture) is a picture of the maze we are in. It is so tangled and messy that many are crying out for retreat. Babylon has a spiritual force that has been loosed to confuse the minds of the righteous so that tactical strategy is ill advised and ill timed to bring about defeat. It is at this time that we must see through the confusion (maze) as a result of intense worship and intercession which will break us through to the Mind of Christ. Supernatural strategy, strength and breakthrough are within our reach.

We are in a time of vacillation where we are being tempted to back off and take the easy way out, to call a truce because the roar is so loud OUR DISCERNMENT IS MESSED UP. However May is the time to begin to run with the horses. The horses begin to run in May with the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. God is releasing war horses in the month of May to gallop through this nation starting with Washington DC. We have been in the tangled maze of the jungle haunted by lions nationally, territorially and in many cases personally.

Jer 12:5 Amplified says: But the Lord rebukes Jeremiah's impatience, saying, If you have raced with men on foot and they have tired you out, then how can you compete with horses? And if you take to flight in a land of peace where you feel secure, then what will you do when you tread the tangled maze of jungle haunted by lions in the swelling and flooding of the Jordan?

Not only is God releasing war horses but He is releasing the Man of War. The mightiest race horse in the history of horse racing name is Man of War. It is a picture of the LORD who is THE Man of War. So one of God’s names is the Man of War. I heard the Lord say that The Man of War would march into Washington DC and be released across the nation from DC. There would come a fresh mantle on the President for righteous war and he would be re-clothed by THE Man of War. Then it would begin to charge across the nation. It is no mistake that Earl Pickard is leading a team after May 11 to travel the path of the historic Lewis and Clark expedition. It was in May that new frontiers were opened up through Lewis and Clark.

Ex 15:1-3 THEN MOSES and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord, saying, I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider or its chariot has He thrown into the sea. 2 The Lord is my Strength and my Song, and He has become my Salvation; this is my God, and I will praise Him, my father's God, and I will exalt Him. 3 The Lord is a Man of War; the Lord is His name. May is the time in the North when we see the shift in the seasons most dramatically. Luke 4:13 speaks about the Satan’s response to Jesus’ successful overcoming of temptation in the wilderness. Jesus went into war with the enemy full of the Spirit. He came out, full of power. Luke 4:13 says that Satan completed a cycle of temptation and stood apart from Jesus until the next favorable and opportune time. (Look in the Amplified Version) The word favorable and opportune time in the Greek is kairos. Satan’s target points are kairos seasons both in our personal lives as well as the times of our territories and nation. Kairos times are windows of opportunity that we must grab when they open. Satan comes in the kairos opportune time when favor is about to be released to thwart our overcoming. As a result, our breakthrough into our inheritance for the season is thwarted and consequently delayed until a future time, sometimes many years and even centuries. We must enter this war full of the Spirit so that we can emerge from the war, full of power. Miraculous signs, wonders and miracles are about to be released. But it is contingent on how we respond in this season, while the kairos window of opportunity is open.

In mid April, I met with our pastoral staff concerning setting a time for a 3 day fast. Every one sensed the need for the fast. As we weighed the timing before God, we came to the conclusion that the 3 days leading up to the National Day of Prayer were the critical days we were to target, May 3-5. We needed to breakthrough before the Day of Prayer, so that it would be effective and result in a turning in the nation, a transformation of thought and insight because of a change of mind. (Rom 12:1-2) May is critical. I challenge the nation to go on a 3 day fast leading up to the National Day of Prayer. We need to lay down our lives in prayer on behalf of our territories and the nation.

Review Chuck Pierce’s prayer charge sent out April 16, 2004 called “We are in the Last Days of the Prayer Focus, Contending with Your Enemy.” We are entering the most intense period over this focus during the month of May. May Day, May Day, May Day. Review some of the historic victories that occurred in this month throughout history which have established a foundation to overcome.

Where we start is with the Word of God. In May of 1611, the King James Version of the Bible was first published in England and became the standard English language Bible. Declare that there will be renewed faith within us in the power of the Word of God. Jesus is the Word. Declare the Word over our situation. (John 1:1; Isaiah 55:11; Jer 1:12; Isaiah 40:8) Declare this passage over yourself as we enter this strategic month: Isa 50:4-5 "The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to hear as the learned. 5 The Lord GOD has opened My Declare that this is the month you will begin to have your ears opened to hear His Word as never before.
The first aerial use of torpedoes occurred in 1951; called Dambusters. Our warfare is in the heavenlies. We are to loose dambusters in May: Psalms 149:6-9
In 1881 the American Red Cross was established: an agency to aid those who through disaster, were in distress. Jesus was sent to those in distress. We have been sent out by God to fulfill the ministry of Jesus. Luke 4:18-21
The Empire State Building opened in 1931. The House of the Lord, His Church releasing the Kingdom of God, is to arise and tower over every other structure. Eph 1:15-23
Jamestown VA was founded and settled in 1607. We are pioneering a new settlement of God which will release the Kingdom of God in this nation and manifest His wisdom. Eph 2:19-21; Eph 3:8-13
Washington DC was founded in 1802. We are going to “Jerusalem” in May to take the city. He overcame the enemies of God and apostolically began to rule as king in Jerusalem. A new apostolic throne and rulership will be established. (2 Sam 5:6-7; Ps 122:5; Isa 16:5; Dan 7:9-14 *9; *21) Read Revelation 4. The door is standing open in heaven, God is saying come up here. When John entered through the door into heaven, the first thing he saw was the throne.
Alan Shepard went of the first manned space flight in 1961. The first transatlantic flight occurred in 1919 as Charles Lindbergh set out to accomplish this feat in May. We are entering the 3rd heaven to break through the second heaven by abiding in the third heaven with Christ, at God’s right hand. We are taking the heavens. Eph 2:1-2, 4-7.
Astronaut Cooper orbited the earth 22 times. Declare that in May Isaiah 22:22 will be released across the nation.
The Transcontinental Railroad was completed in 1869. Lewis and Clark initiated their pioneering expedition in 1804 which laid the groundwork for taking the West. We are riding across this nation to reclaim it for God. Joshua received the mantle from Moses, advanced into Canaan and began to take the land. He subdued 31 kings. (Joshua 12:24) Declare over the team Earl Pickard is leading across the path of the Lewis and Clark expedition, beginning May 13 and ending the 30th that they will retake the path for God’s purposes.
The first Olympic Games were held in the U.S. in St. Louis MO in 1904, one century ago. This is the month of one of the most famous car races in America, the Indianapolis 500. This is a season both to excel and cross the finish line as well as to break all relationships with Greek thinking which will hinder our finding the right path on which to run; Greece being the origination of the Olympics. Run the race to win the prize in Phil 3: (Ps 19:1-6, *5; Eccl 9:11-15; 1 Cor 9:24-27; Heb 12:1-2)
The first life insurance policy in the United States was issued in Philadelphia in 1761. Declare that as we begin to run and break through, resurrection power will be released and a new faith to move into it will arise. We will receive new life as we move out in faith and cross the flooded plains. (Rom 8:11)
Samuel F.B. Morse transmitted the first message as America’s first telegraph line was opened. Declare that we will decode visions and dreams from God that will lead us into great victory; cause us to traverse impossible passageways; and avert disaster. Declare that the mysteries we need to comprehend this month, we will move into a revelation knowledge that will make them understandable. (Eph 1:17-21)
The Brooklyn Bridge, linking Brooklyn and Manhattan, opened to traffic in 1883. Also the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco was opened in 1937 to the public.
Pentecost (Shavuot) occurs in this month also on Wednesday, May 26th. The Holy Spirit is our bridge to Christ and all that is to be ours through Christ. Bridges will be built this month that will link us to key individuals, cities, and/or connections that will cause us to come into victory and inheritance. (Eph 1:11-14; Col 1:11-12; Heb 9:15; 1 Pet 1:3-5)
In Europe and the US, V-E Day occurred on May 8. The German Army surrendered to the Allies at Rheims, ending the war in Europe on May 7. (Ps 47:1-5; 2 Cor 2:15; Col 2:15; Rev 15:2-4) We also end the month with Memorial Day, honoring the many men and women who laid down their lives for our nation. We want to declare that this month we will begin to turn the tide and see great victory begin to manifest. Also remember that there is power in the blood of martyrs. The blood cries out from the ground. (Gen 4:9-11) We have all been challenged to present our bodies as a living sacrifice (Rom 12:1). Let us sacrifice in intercession to break through and turn the tide. 1 John 5:4-5
Lastly, the Womens Army Corp (WAC’s) came into law on May 15, 1942. Women were granted official military status. Proverbs 31:10 says, Who can find a virtuous woman, her worth is far above rubies. The word “virtuous” means strength, then an army and wealth. Other meanings are might, efficiency, ability, and force. There is a new anointing on women for war. Deborah was a mother in Israel. As we celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 9, let us celebrate and declare that women of strength, an army of women, women of wealth will begin to be loosed in a new way to take their places apostolically and come along side of men to win this battle and release the greatest harvest that has ever come. Men cannot bear seeds alone, they need to come into relationship with women for the bringing to birth of seeds. A great harvest is about to be released when women are released into the “Armed Forces of God” with a new apostolic mantle of authority and power.

On May 1, 2003 President George Bush proclaimed that day as loyalty day. I believe that as we begin this month, we need to proclaim loyalty to God, His Word, to hear His voice, to intercede, to cover those with whom we are connected, out of loyalty to cry out for our nation, our leaders, families, and children to find the right way to go so that we will break through and not lose any of our people nor our possessions. We are in a time where we are warring also for the transference of wealth. There is the danger of losing it before we even get it because the enemy is targeting the plans of God. Yet God has awakened us to danger by crying out, “mayday, mayday, mayday,” so that we can pray, strategize, overcome and breakthrough to transformation in every area.

WE SAY A NEW WARRING WILL BE RELEASED IN MAY WHICH WILL RIDE THROUGH THE NATION AND OVERTURN THE PLANS AND PLOTS OF THE ENEMY. RIDE ON MAN OF WAR. WE WILL RIDE WITH YOU. AND THIS WARRING WILL CAUSE A NEW BLOSSOMING OF THE PLANS AND PURPOSES OF GOD ALONG WITH A DEFEATING OF THE ENEMY’S STRATEGIES. RIDE ON INTO VICTORY. WE HEAR THE SUMMONS OF THE CRY, “MAYDAY, MAYDAY, MAYDAY.” WE WILL ANSWER IN PRAYER AND FASTING TO TURN OUR NATION.

Last of all, we are entering the 5th month and 5 means grace as well as redemption. Great grace and redemption will be released as we move forward in the purposes of God for this month. One intercessory leader had a dream about going to 5 gates by 5/11. I believe that there may be 5 gates in most cities that we are to go to as well as in each territory and the nation. There are 5 gates of Islam in the city of Detroit. There are 5 Baal altars in the Upper Peninsula. In the 5th month, we deal with the 5’s, going out and crying grace, grace to the mountains. The word mountain in Zech 4:7 means something that looms up. It also means promotion. Grace also means favor. We will receive new favor at the place that looms up over us and enter into our promotion individually, corporately and as a nation.
