Please continue to be in prayer for the rebuilding of New Orleans – we do have an opportunity to reshape its foundations.  Also, please pray for Prince Charles.  Below are more details on each initiative.

Blessings and great grace,

Dana on behalf of

New Orleans

In the October 31, 2005 news it was reported that New Orleans was previously known as the voodoo capital of the US and that voodoo has long been entrenched in New Orleans.  It was actively practiced by about 15% of the New Orleans population and provided a great draw to tourist.  Please read the entire article at this link http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/10/31/katrina.voodoo.ap/index.html.  The following quotes are from the article:

“He fears that Katrina, which laid waste to entire neighborhoods and claimed hundreds of lives here, may take another casualty: New Orleans' status as the country's voodoo capital.”

"We have got to call on the ancestors for help and get real serious about it," Kelley said. "The spirit is in the city. It's the spirit of this city that is going to rise from the ashes."

“It wasn't supposed to be this way. The "go away" hurricane ritual was performed in July, just as it always is at the start of the hurricane season.”

The good news is 24 hour prayer and worship has been established in the New Orleans area with intercessors and worship teams from around the world offering to storm the city.  Our prayer is that the enemy that has freely flowed into the US from the New Orleans will be bound and not return to the city and that New Orleans will become a city of God's light and become a gateway for God's presence.

Prince Charles

Prince Charles will travel to the United States on Tuesday (11/1/05) for his first official tour of the country since 1994.  He said in 1994 that when he became Supreme Governor of the Church of England, he would rather be "defender of faiths" than "defender of the faith".  One of his main purposes will be to address President Bush's view of Islam.  Please read the article linked below and pray this week.   Prince Charles has done more than any other member of the Royal Family in history to support and propel the cause of Islam in Europe.  A few quotes from the article:  http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/10/30/nchas30.xml

He "wants Americans - including Mr Bush - to share his fondness for Islam."

He "thinks the United States has been too intolerant of the religion since September 11."

He "has voiced private concerns over
America's "confrontational" approach to Muslim countries and its failure to appreciate Islam's strengths."

He says, "I find the language and rhetoric coming from America too confrontational..."

He "does not - believe that the actions of 19 hijackers should tarnish the reputation of hundreds of millions of law-abiding Muslims around the world."

"His criticism of America was a general one of the Americans not having the appreciation we have for Islam and its culture," stated a Muslim friend of the Prince.

He urged the West to overcome its "unthinkable prejudices" about Islam and its customs and laws.

He spoke warmly of the West's debt to the culture of Islam and distanced moderate Muslims from misguided militants. "Extremism is no more the monopoly of Islam than it is the monopoly of other religions, including Christianity," he said.
